Hello! That's my first publication, and I want to show you, how record a song with the Audio Software Ableton Live 8.
First, you have to open the software. And in the new window, there are two tracks:
- Audio track
- Midi track
Some things: Audio its sound, wave-sound.
Midi its only electronic data, 0 o 1.
The magic thing of midi, is this:
Allows you to asign in the Live software, a Virtual Instrument Plugin called "VST plugin"
This plugin, allow you to produce a sound as you like! That's Fantastic!
In the midi track you have to asign the midi controller, that is usually a keyboard like a piano, but this only makes electronic data, doesn't make wave-sound.
And in the audio track you have to select Where the audio comes from, and where the audio goes.
This is for people who has a mixer, you can say:
I want on this track the input number 4, and I want that this track routes the signal in the output 6 and 7 for example.
And of course, the input is the signal which we will record later.
Well, to record a track is very very easy.
Only you have to mark the record icon in the track and press the key "SPACE" to start recording.
It's so easy!
One time the audio or the midi is recorded, you can insert some audio effects, like Reverb, Compressor, Limiter, Audio-gate, Backing Vocals..
Description of some effects:
Reverb: This effect is like if you are singing in a church for example.. or in a large hall... something like this.
Backing Vocals: This effect is for a voice record. It simulates a choir.
Audio-Gate: This effect allows you to soft some frequencies of the track.
Well that's all!
See you next time!
